About Jackie

Biography

Jackie, as she is also known, is from San Leandro, California and has been a stage performer since she was five when she began as an acrobat, then dancer and finally singer and actress.   As an adolescent she begins appearing in Musical Comedy and at 17 wins Best Actress as María in West Side Story at Ohlone College.  Marriage takes her to Mexico City (her cultural heritage) where she continues her career in Experimental and Classical Theatre performing many roles like tragic Juliet, Strindberg´s haunting MilkMaid, the harlot Areusa, St. Teresa of Avila, the mischievous Puck, the rowdy Janice Joplin, Mexican artist Frida Kahlo and monologues of the Spanish surrealist painter Remedios Varo and the Mother of Modern Dance, Isadora Duncan to name a few.  She has sung in a Blues and Rock band and has recorded for up and coming composers.  She has worked in telenovelas and commercials.  She is back to performing in the Bay Area wherever opportunity leads her.
